Week Has Just Flew By

I won’t sugar coat a thing for you here. Writers/Authors/Whatever You Call Us Folks, we’re nothing more than the average person. Okay, so maybe that was sugar coating it. Writers are not normal, we’re weird.

Writers are a paradox. We constantly have fifty things flashing through our skulls. I have to sensor myself at work, pop open a beer and give it to a customer… “That sounds amazing! If she would just elbow him to the groin and make a run for it!” No, that’s not appropriate at the work place. Although, some of the best people to talk to when you’re blocked are the people who spend all day at the bar and know considerably more than you about what you know naught.

One of my regulars had a birthday party on Wednesday. By the end of the day, I was labeled as “one of my favorite bartenders”. However, bartenders tend to be extroverts and crazy (crazy or crazy funny, your choice). I’m not. I’m known as the “nice bartender” where I just listen to everyone without a peep and put little comments at the end which end up leading to a new conversation entirely.

Things get weird as the week moves forward. Cleaning vacation homes, trying to have a semblance of a social life while my best friend is a bit of a hermit. Best friend, known him almost five years, used to go downtown ALL the time, now not even able to go to a bar without calling someone else. Granted, being a bit of a introvert, I’m not huge on going out by myself, or at all really. But I still try.

I would rather go out and observe the craziness whilst having a drink or two, but with this medicine I’ve been put on for tendonitis in my shoulder joint, I can’t drink. So perhaps it’s best that my friend doesn’t want to go out, EVER.

It’s the end of the week now, so we’ll see what will transpose tomorrow. I’m thinking about making this either a daily, or a weekly type of blog. Comment below and let me know what you think. Or even if you don’t like these type of blogs. Yes, I still will pull up advice blogs for writing, those will be weekly or bi-weekly, I haven’t decided.

If there is anything else that you would like to know, comment it! Like it! Share it! Go for it!
